Provisional Psychologist

Uma is a registered provisional psychologist and holds a Master of Professional Psychology.


She is passionate about working with intellectual, developmental, and cognitive disorders across the lifespan. She has experience in assessment, clinical diagnosis, and treatment planning.


Uma has worked with individuals managing depression, anxiety, intellectual and cognitive disabilities, stress-related issues, adaptation challenges, and suicidal ideation. She is trained and experienced in various therapies, including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI) techniques. Additionally, she is skilled in administering psychometric assessment tools such as psychometric tests for Cognitive and Educational Assessment.


Before moving to Tamworth on February 19th, 2025, Uma worked at Transcultural Mental Health (TMHC) at Cumberland Hospital in the Western Sydney Local Health District. She gained experience working with a diverse clientele and is skilled in collaborating with interpreters as part of a multidisciplinary team. Uma believes in client-centered, evidence-based therapeutic treatment plans that incorporate SMART goals tailored to the individual.
